Two Saints is celebrating after reaching its fundraising target – which means it can keep crucial support services running this year.
Our Day Centre in Cranbury Avenue is a drop-in service providing vital services for people affected by homelessness – helping them to access healthcare, learn practical life skills, keep clean and well, and feel supported by their community.
Following funding changes, we needed to raise £30,000 to make sure the service remained sustainable.
We have now reached their goal, meaning that we can continue to support people experiencing homelessness by providing them with a place to have a hot shower, find something to eat and drink, do their laundry, visit the GP and dentist, and access all our support services.
This is thanks to the support from the local community.

Notably, members of the Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis Club took on a sponsored seven day fast, going without any solid food for a week, consuming just water, electrolytes, and black tea and coffee while still working, coaching, and going about their usual activities. Following this, they organised a bingo night at the club (pictured to the right) and, through their combined efforts, raised an astounding £3,105 for our cause.
We’re also grateful to those who left legacy donations as these contributions helped them reach their target.
Janice Hughes, our chief executive, said: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to our Day Centre.
“The services that are provided from the Day Centre are lifesaving and lifechanging for street homeless people in Southampton.
“Your donations enable us to continue to provide for basic human needs that everyone should have access to. They also help us to signpost people to a brighter future, including healthcare, a roof over their head and the potential to contribute to society.”
