Sunny weather brings with it lots of reasons to smile, here are some of ours from the month of July!:

Our client engagement team hosted a cooking workshop with some of our Housing First clients. The session was led by Sue, one of the client engagement team members, with support from Robyn, who co-ordinates client engagement activities like this one.

Sue has training in nutrition and is passionate about helping clients get excited about cooking and making food that is full of colour and nutrients. Tacos and Quesadillas were on the menu, and four clients got involved with others joining to enjoy the food when it was ready.

Clients said they enjoyed getting together to do something different. A few clients were not so confident with cooking and rarely cook for themselves so it was a great opportunity to get some practice and experience, while others had past experience and were able to get stuck in!

The brilliant staff and clients at one of our Portsmouth services have been working hard putting together a cookbook with all of their favourite meals!

The cookbook contains instructions for lots of simple meals that clients will be able to replicate and improve their cooking skills. The team are working on creating hard copies.

Our fantastic support worker Sophie took her clients along to the 100 Years of Portsmouth celebrations on Southsea Common recently

Everyone had a fantastic time, and enjoyed a motorbike show and bagpipe performance!

Here’s a photo of Sophie, Jeanette, and Mark having a great time together.

Our client Stuart took advantage of the sunny weather and painted a gazebo in one of our Portsmouth service’s garden.

With the hot weather we’ve been having recently, a cool and shady spot is exactly what the space needed.

Stuart also swept the garden and washed the paving floor. He purchased the paint himself and he is very pleased with the result. We couldn’t agree more – it looks fantastic!

As a token of their appreciation, the service have given Stuart a £10 Tesco voucher to spend on whatever treat he might like.

Well done Stuart, what a brilliant effort!

Here’s a par-fect picture of Portsmouth clients Lala, Mark, and Jeanette on a golfing adventure!

After the excitement of mini golf, everyone visited the arcade to cool off before grabbing some lunch.

The group made use of our mini get-together fund to organise their first summer activity, which doubled up as a birthday treat for client Lala.

Our brilliant support worker Sophie took her client John on a lovely harbour boat ride in Portsmouth recently.

The two enjoyed seeing the sights together in the sunshine. What a treat!

Check out this colourful picture from our Southampton Road service celebrating Pride Month recently!

Our fantastic team put together a buffet-style food event, dressed in bright colours, and even made a delicious layered rainbow cake for our clients to enjoy 🌈

One of Wokingham services took a trip to Thorpe Park recently.

Everyone had a great time exploring and trying their hand at a whole host of minigames.

After a day of giant cow teddies and sunshine, everyone was itching to ride on Tidal Wave to cool off!

Our fantastic support worker Florence accompanied two of our Portsmouth clients on a crazy golf adventure.

On top of being a fun day out, this was the first time these two particular clients had met one another, given that they are supported by different services.

Overcoming anxieties around meeting new people is a huge milestone for many of our clients, and an important step towards independence.

A very positive day out in more ways than one – great job everyone!
