Fareham and Gosport

We work with Fareham and Gosport Borough Councils to provide the following:

We also provide supported housing across East Street and Foster Road. Each is tailored to the needs of the clients and offer various levels of support. Our aim is to provide person-centred support to our clients, empowering them to gain the life skills they require to move on to more independent living. We also work with a range of agencies to maximise the support and opportunities for our clients. Clients are encouraged to get involved in activities and residents’ meetings.

Our outreach service provides support to adults across Gosport who are sleeping rough, helping them to access support and accommodation as well as any immediate needs around health and access to food and water. Our aim is to identify individuals who are sleeping rough, encourage them to complete activities that keep them safe and work in partnership with the council and other housing providers to find housing options as quickly as possible.

The Gosport Housing First service follows the nationwide model that aims to help people into stable housing without making them meet strict conditions first. Housing First is a recovery-based approach to ending homelessness that centres on quickly moving people experiencing repeat homelessness or rough sleeping into housing and then providing additional support and services as needed. People do not need to be employed, in recovery, or receiving treatment in order to access the help and support they need instead Housing First provides access to permanent housing with no housing readiness requirement.

The service:

  • Provides intensive support around tenancy sustainment, community integration, and reaching goals and aspirations
  • Proactively works with clients to ensure that their tenancy is sustained, including maintaining their benefit claims and rent payments, repairs are reported in a timely manner, and that anti-social behaviour is abstained from
  • Works with clients to ensure that they maintain their home to an appropriate environmental health standard, providing practical assistance where necessary

In partnership with NHS Inclusion, our Dame Carol Detoxification Service provides intensive support for rehabilitation to those aged 18 and over with complex issues surrounding drug or alcohol dependency and homelessness. The service has nine beds (one with disabled access) and accepts referrals from 20 local authority areas across the South and South East of England. Click here to make a referral.

Our aim is to reduce the need for emergency hospital admissions through the offer of planned, structured treatment.
